π Just a Thought
Consider swapping resolutions for intentions?
Sometimes the things that didnβt work out for you - actually worked out for you.
Take a moment of gratitude for the things that didnβt work out and celebrate what happened instead. New Year's resolutions are a loaded concept - I personally think intentions are a subtler way to focus on what you want to create in your life.
I am making a conscious effort to be purposeful and intentional with my actions in 2023.
How you do something, is how you do everything.

π One for the Planet
COP15 - "A major milestone for the conservation of nature"A landmark initiative has been signed by almost 200 countries - agreeing to preserve 30% of Earth for nature alone. This deal is aimed at reversing the major loss we're experiencing in biodiversity.
This "30 by 30" pledge has been agreed in principle - but we must see action.
"Countries also agreed to revive 30 per cent of the planetβs damaged and degraded ecosystems, and to completely phase out environmentally damaging subsidies, setting an initial goal of reducing them by $500bn (Β£410bn) by 2030."
βWe must now see immediate implementation of this agreement, no excuses, no delays β nature and all of us who rely on it for our livelihoods, economies and wellbeing have waited long enough, itβs time for nature to thrive again.β

Cold Water Exposure: is it just hype?
So, taking the plunge has been raging this year. It's been building for a while now, but I feel that 2022 was the year for cold exposure. But, is it all worth it?
From my perspective: 100% - I'm all about it ...I've been dipping into the cold for most of the year on the daily - and the benefits I've felt have been incredible β
Increased Focus
Much Calmer / Happier
Resilient Mind
Mental Clarity
Lower Sustained Pulse
Subtler Reactions to Stress
These are my observations, as someone who does compete with anxiety - the reduced reactions to stress situations in my life has been a game changer. I am much more calmer - especially around my kids - and I'm better equipped to deal with life's garbage - which you know ain't going away!
Andrew Huberman - suggests that 11 minutes accumulative exposure on the weekly, is enough to reap the rewards.
If you're going to give this a go - stay safe, start small and never push yourself. Work your way to colder water and slowly extend your time exposure. Cold Showers are the perfect on-ramp!
11min min per week divided into 2-4 sessions, done any time of day, EOD or consecutive does not matter, & if you sauna or hot shower, end with cold (for the metabolic effect of self re-warming).
Confession: I end with heat if itβs near bed time and I want to sleep well.β Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D. (@hubermanlab)
